Pure Whipped Shea Butter
I love shea butter and my skin loves it too which is why I use it in nearly all my soaps and in all my lotions.
You can purchase this at your local health food store. I have been told that some stores have it on the shelf for extended periods of time and is less than fresh.
You can also go online and get it from some of the big companies and pay a premium price for it. In reality, oftentimes we get the shea butter from the same place. They just charge a heck of a lot more.
Please note that the shea butter is whipped for over an hour to give it a soft creamy texture for a smooth application. I love to use it on my skin while it is still wet from the shower to seal in the moisture while allowing your skin to breathe.
If you live in a warm climate, the butter may melt and the texture may change. This does not affect the quality of the butter but the volume will be less do to the process of whipping.
Shea butter is very beneficial for skin and hair in its natural form.It is an all-natural, and renewable skin care alternative to mineral oil which is the common ingredient in commercial lotions.
Each jar contains pure, whipped shea butter.
I add a bit of Bulgarian lavender essential oil to this shea butter due to its' natural smoky" fragrance.
I prefer to purchase Free Trade African Shea Butter. This is an important industry for the women in Africa.
