There is nothing quite like a quality lotion or cream for our face and bodies.

Most commercial lotions and creams are made with mineral oil. While this oil is not bad for you, it does nothing for great skin care. Furthermore, it is petroleum product and no longer a sustainable commodity.

Our environment is important. Using sustainable ingredients is important to all of us and for future generations.

We add all the wonderful ingredients that our "experienced" skin loves. Shea butter, jojoba, fractionated coconut oil and vitamin E are so good for our skin.

Oh sure, they are a bit more expensive than mineral oil, but we are worth it.

I frequently asked why I use a preservative in my lotions when preservatives get such bad press. The answer is simply that it is safer to use a cosmetic that has a preservative system in place. To do otherwise would be unethical. A preservative is used at 0.3% of the total product. There is far more risk to your health every time you touch your money, a key, or a door knob.

I use Germaben III, which is a total system which is safe to use around the tender tissues of your eyes. This is not true of many other preservative systems.

Non preserved systems are only good for about one week when it is kept in your refrigerator. Our lotions are good for one year.

Compare the big name lotions who advertise exotic ingredients in their lotions, and you will frequently find the ingredients listed after the preservative. Now what does that tell you??

How did I come by this information? Research. The home crafter now has a dedicated group of professional chemists available to advise us. These ladies and gentlemen volunteer their time and talents to see that we do it right! They come from companies such as Revlon, Almay, and Clinique. I've been fortunate to meet several of them at our national gatherings where they have been invited to be speakers.

Emu Shea Lavender Facial & Body Lotion

This is my favorite lotion for my face. I use the same lotion formula in all the emu shea butter lotions. Only the fragrance is different.

Pure Bulgarian Lavender essential oil scents this lovely lavender.

There are certain essential oils that are particularly good for our skin. Lavender, rose otto, rose geranium, patchouli, and sandalwood are all tops, especially for experienced skin, which is my skin type!

This is a timeless fragrance and wonderful for the whole body as well as the face.

Purely Aveda (type)Shea Butter Lotion

This is a dupe of the classic Aveda Shampure scent. It is a crisp, clean herbal scent that really stays with you -- personally, I pick up lavender & pettigrain notes, with a very crisp hint of ylang.

This is a great fragrance for men also. It is a wonderful spa type fragrance.

If you love the fragrance and this beautiful lotion, try the Purely Aveda soap with French green clay, and the dry oil spray by the same name.

Emu Shea Red Clover Tea Facial & Body Lotion

This lightly scented lotion was originally formulated for a dear friend that was undergoing radiation therapy for breast cancer.

Both emu and shea butter have anti-inflammatory properties and are excellent for damaged, dry, skin.

This scent is a light, blend of fruity florals, and tea. Men love this fragrance also and enjoy fine skin care.
